President's Message

Greetings Rhode Island Chapter Members,

My name is Kayla and it is my honor to serve as your 2026 Rhode Island CPCU Society Chapter President. As a brief introduction, I earned my CPCU designation in December of 2020 and have been involved with the Rhode Island chapter in a variety of roles on the Board of Directors since my initiation. It has been rewarding to see the increase in engagement of the chapter members as we pivoted back to in-person meetings after the pandemic. I currently work at Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage in East Providence, Rhode Island- where, fun fact, the very first Rhode Island Chapter President also worked- and have focused primarily on claims and risk management in my decade-long insurance career. 

Every year, the President comes up with a theme to guide their term. This year, my focus is collaboration and engagement.  You will hear me reference these  ideas often, as they are central to strengthening our chapter and enhancing the value we provide to our members. I am extremely grateful to this year’s Board of Directors who work tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver meaningful and engaging content to our membership and look forward to continue offering more opportunities in the future.
